EA wants to “regain trust of the PC gamer”

EA has said that it is on a “journey to regain trust of the PC gamer”, and won’t be making an appearance at E3 2016.

Gaming giant Electronic Arts states that it is now on a major mission to fix its reputation with PC gamers.

In the recent past, game launches including the likes of SimCity and Battlefield 4 have been a little disastrous – particularly for PC gamers.

And for PC gamers, EA has a lot to do to improve its reputation.

“We are on a journey to regain the trust of the PC gamer,” said Peter O’Reilly, Senior Marketing Director for Origin to MCV.

“Over the last couple of years we have focused on ensuring a great play experience from launch and bringing players a better experience on Origin with programs like the Great Game Guarantee, On the House, and now Origin Access.”

“We’re excited about the progress we’ve made, but are always pushing ourselves to innovate on behalf of players.”

This is certainly a welcome message from EA, as it has definitely been
struggling to fight against poor opinions of its EA Access service for
many a year.

In a surprise announcement, EA Games revealed that it won’t have a press conference or booth at E3 2015. Instead, the published will hold an event at Club Nokia in Los Angeles from June 12 – 14 called EA Play.

There’s also plans to hold a one-day event at The Mermaid Event Centre in London on June 12.

There apparently still will be some kind of press conference, but it will be held on the Sunday at EA Play rather in the usual Monday slot at E3 2016.

“We are taking our commitment to put our players first further this year by creating a play experience built around them,” said an EA representative to Kotaku. “Hosting our own event allows us to connect directly with our players and create a meaningful experience for them.”
