Drivebot is a health tracker for your car

What if you could fit a health and fitness tracker to your car and see any problems on the horizon? You’d have Drivebot.

It’s essentially a Fitbit for your car. It keeps tabs on your car’s health and flags up any potential problems so you can take the required measures before anything goes wrong. And as we all know, spotting a problem early makes it easier – not to mention cheaper – to repair.

Not only that, it will also monitor your driving habits and advise you how to save money on petrol.

Using it is simple. Just plug it into your car’s OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostic) port, and sync it to your smartphone via Bluetooth. It’ll monitor various components of your car, such as the engine, transmission, brakes, air conditioning, steering system and battery. It’ll also tell you how far you can go before you’ll have to refuel.

And it doubles as a satnav, letting you compare routes in terms of traffic and which is most fuel efficient.

It’s good news for the self-employed too, as it lets you export your business trips straight from your phone, ready to get money back come tax return time.

The app works on iOS 7 or later, and Android 4.0 and later.

It’s left its funding goal eating its dust, raising around $52,000 of a $35,000 target. And there are still 34 days left. The device is expected to ship in February next year. For more, check out the Indiegogo page.
