Dortmund vs PSG − Match preview

Most neutrals will be getting behind Dortmund tonight, and while Die Schwarzgelben don’t have megastars like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to call upon, they’ve got a couple of extremely talented youngsters to call upon, in Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland.

The Norwegian scored eight goals for Red Bull Salzburg in the group stages of this season’s Champions League, before joining Dortmund in January. He’s already netted eight times for his new club, having only spend 305 minutes on the pitch for them, and was named the Bundesliga player of the month for January.

Sancho is having a fantastic season too. The young Englishman is Dortmund’s top scorer in the league and is assisting goals left, right and centre too.

Dortmund are in patchy form, having won two and lost two of their past four games, but if those two and the Yellow Wall are on song, they’ll cause PSG some serious issues.

Les Parisiens are amongst the favourites for this year’s trophy, but that’s been true in recent years too. They have a tendency to capitulate during the knockout stages, but will that change this season?

They were extremely impressive in the group stages, the highlights being a 3-0 dismantling of Real Madrid in Paris, and a scarcely believable 2-2 draw against the same opposition at the Bernabeu, having gone 2-0 down in the 79th minute.

This could be a thrilling encounter.
