Do these pictures prove iPhone 7 will ship with Lightning EarPods?

With WWDC in the rear view mirror, more and more attention is turning to how the next generation Apple iPhone handsets might shape up.
With rumours pointing to an iPhone 7 without a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, much of the speculation has centred on how buyers will enjoy personal audio.
New photos posted online on Wednesday (via Apple Insider) seem to back up rumours Apple will offer its stock EarPod headphones with a Lightning jack.
The photos, posted to Chinese social media site Weibo, appear to show hardwired Lightning solution rather than the 3.5mm jack with adapter often rumoured.

However, judging by the pictures the situation doesn’t seem cut and dried.
While the buds themselves seem to match Apple’s designs, the headphone jack itself looks little the streamlined hardware showcased within the Lightning charging cable.
Recent rumours have also suggested Apple may choose to ship Bluetooth-enabled wireless headphones to encourage users to cut the cord.
Right now, it appears as though the 3.5mm jack with a Lightning adapter might be the safest bet.
At any rate it feels a little depressing the desperately poor stock Apple headphones are one of the main points of conversation ahead of what’s usually the most newsworthy smartphone release in any given tech year.
