Do Not Disturb iPhone bug causes users to miss calls

A new iPhone bug has emerged with the handset’s ‘Do Not Disturb’ features failing to turn off when scheduled, causing users to miss calls and diverting contacts direct to voice mail.

Seemingly sparked by the transition into 2013, the iPhone and iPad’s Do Not Disturb functionality has been seemingly thrown off by the new year with the issues continuing past a simple January 1st glitch to become a more serious and on-going issue.

Exclusive to those who have updated their handsets to iOS 6, an update that saw the Do Not Disturb features introduced, the latest iPhone glitch does not affect those whose Apple products came preinstalled with the latest operating system, meaning iPhone 5, iPad mini and iPad 4 owners have avoided the inconvenience.

Although Apple has yet to offer a formal response to the issue, a simply fix is available in true rudimentary issue fashion with users affected by the Do Not Disturb issues able to rid themselves of the problem simply by turning their devices off and on again.

Far from the first time Apple devices have become wrong-footed by date and time changes, iPhone users have seen alarms nullified by the transition to daylight savings time on a number of occasions with the one hour time jump causing continued glitches with the iOS software.

Adding insult to injury for the iMac and iPod touch manufacturer, the latest iPhone bug emerged on the same day as Apple launched a new iPhone app featuring tennis stars Venus and Serina Williams and revolving around the benefits of the handset’s Do Not Disturb functionality.
