The Disney Infinity 2 line up just got a little stronger, with the Skylanders rival adding a Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set is added to the mix.
Announced ahead of the Guardians of the Galaxy film release next Thursday, July 31, the new Disney Infinity 2 Play Set sees five new characters partner the existing likes of Spiderman, Thor and the Hulk in the toys-to-life game.
The five Guardians of the Galaxy characters to be given the Disney Infinity 2 treatment are Groot, Gamora, Drax, Star-Lord and our personal favourite. Rocket Raccoon.
With the new Play Set introducing an all new campaign game mode – again tying into the film – the five figures can also be used within the Disney Infinity Toy Box where gamers can craft their own adventures for the game’s full array of characters.
According to Disney: “
“Players will guide the team as they race to protect Knowhere from Ronan and his attacking Sakaaran fleet while keeping their newly liberated item safe from the villain’s evil grasp.”
Sadly the Disney Infinity 2 Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set will not be available in time for the films cinema release.
Disney has revealed that the new characters will join the gaming world ‘this fall’, so perhaps in time for the flick’s DVD and Blu-ray launch.
