The Iron Banner Crucible Event is now live on Destiny 2, bringing with it an array of exclusive equipment and rewards players can earn by proving their worth in the legendary arena. Not only introducing new loot, Iron Banner also sees the debut of an all new map alongside other goodies.

What is The Iron Banner?

Destiny 2’s Iron Banner is a Crucible Event that occurs at regular intervals, focusing on specific modes that reward players with unique spoils depending on how they perform.

It also focuses on a single mode at any given time, meaning players will have to abide by a specific strategy if they want to succeed. This time around, it’s Control.

Destiny 2 Iron Banner – When is it?

The current event is now active across PS4 and Xbox One. It will last from October 10th until the 17th, right ahead of the next weekly reset.

Bungie has also introduced a new map in the form of Distant Shore. This battleground will be added to standard crucible playlists following the Iron Banner’s completion.

Destiny 2 Iron Banner – How do I play?

To access Iron Banner you’ll first need to have completed Destiny 2’s solo campaign and able to visit the second social space. Here you will find Lord Saladin relaxing on The Tower’s upper walkway.

Engage in a conversation with him to unlock Iron Banner Milestones, and with it, access to the playlist itself. After this, hop into quickplay and you can start things up!

Destiny 2 Iron Banner Loot – How do I get it and what is there?

Loot in the Iron Banner is gained through the use of the tokens, which can be gained by successfully completing and winning matches. You can also earn them by completing daily challenges in exchange for reputation bundles.

The Iron Banner has a multitude of different armour sets, accessories and weapons up for grabs, many of which are unique to each class. You can thank the Destiny subreddit for details on these.

From left to right you’ve got the full armour sets for Titan, Hunter and Warlock classes.

In terms of weapons, you’ve got firearms of the kinetic, energy and heavy persuasion to look forward to:

Kinetic –

  • The Guiding Light (Scout Rifle)
  • The Time-Worn Spire (Pulse Rifle)
  • The Steady Hand (Hand Cannon)
  • The Forward Path (Auto Rifle)

Energy –

  • The Hero’s Burden (Submachine Gun)
  • The Fool’s Remedy (Sidearm)

Heavy –

  • The Wizened Rebuke (Fusion Rifle)
  • The Day’s Fury (Grenade Launcher)
