Dell Unveils Trio of Wallet Friendly 16:9 HD Monitors

Silent launch but warm approval.

Dell is back and doing things in a Dell way after silently dropping three new movie friendly monitors into the world…

The Dell ‘ST2310’ (pictured), ‘E2210H’ and E2010H’ come in 23in, 22in and 20in sizes respectively and all come with extra wide 16:9 aspect ratios. The ST2310 and E2210H have native 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) displays while the E2010H somewhat disappointingly drops down to just 1600 x 900 pixels – a resolution which gives 16:9 snipers much (justified) ammunition.

The ST2310 should could keep punters happy however with DVI, VGA and (HDCP compliant) HDMI inputs and while the 250 nits brightness rating and 5ms response time are pretty standard the monstrous 50,000:1 claimed dynamic contrast ratio could well attract sales. It is also also nicely adjustable with 360° rotation combined with a panel tilt of up to 4° forward and 21° backward.

There’s no sign of the trio as yet on Dell UK, but we usually suffer a few weeks delay compared to our US cousins. As for pricing, they come in at just $229 (£137), $199 (£119) and $139 (£83) for the ST2310, E2210H and E2010H respectively which – while before tax – could prove mouth watering if we get even a sniff of those RRP brackets…
