Dell Rolls Out 24in XPS One

More screen size and desktop real estate is never a bad thing!

Dell’s 20in XPS one has been floating around for about a year now, which means it must be time for an update. The logical progression, assuming Dell is going to take on Apple’s iMac at its own all-in-one PC game, is to up the screen size and resolution, which is exactly what Dell has done. Thus it is that we have the new 24in Dell XPS One.

The 24in-er packs a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, as should be expected of such a sized panel. Inside a Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPU trundling along at 2.33GHz sits alongside 4GB of RAM and either integrated X4500HD or 512MB nVidia GeForce 9600 GT graphics.

As with the 20in XPS One the 24in-er sports a hybrid analogue and digital TV tuner, at most a 750GB hard drive and an integrated webcam and microphone. There’s also an option to add Blu-ray, which sits well with that Full HD-capable screen. There is also a (PRODUCT) Red version available, for any interested parties.

No UK-centric information is available yet, but in the US the 24in XPS One starts from $1,699 (~£1,050). That’s some £100 cheaper than the base spec iMac, which has a mere dual-core CPU, just so you know.
