Dell Adds Art House Designs To Mini Range

Who says netbooks look bland?

Call me crazy, but I think Dell’s Art House designs look pretty neat. Conversely the Dell Mini 9 while not exactly bad-looking is a little, well, bland in some TR staffer’s estimations. Or, rather, was because it’s now possible to pick on up decked out in a funky design.

Everywhere else the system is exactly the same as we already know. As tasty as the new skins look, they’re not exactly going to change the conclusions we drew in our Ultimate Netbook Buyer’s Guide. Moreover, there are a couple of problems with these designs.

For one, the skins are (or at least for now seem) limited to the US. Further, at $50 (~£30) a pop for a purely superficial upgrade seems slightly counter-intuitive on a system that’s meant to be cheap. A 32GB SSD upgrade would arguably be a sounder investment.

Still, as fashion accessories go, an arty Mini 9 is a pretty practical one.
