Looking for a smartwatch but don’t want to fork out for a bank-clearing Apple Watch Series 2? Try this on for size.
Amazon has discounted the Pebble Time smartwatch from £149.99 to just £75.12 – that’s a sizeable saving of £74.87, or around 50%.
The Pebble Time smartwatch features a 1.25-inch e-paper display, a 5-7 day battery life, compatibility with iOS and Android, a Cortex M4 CPU, Bluetooth 4.0, and Pebble’s own custom-built operating system.
What we said
We gave the Pebble Time a 3/5 score at its review price of £179, praising its impressive battery life, always-on clock, and waterproofing (to 30m). Here’s our verdict:
“There’s not actually a lot to dislike about the Pebble Time. It’s nicer to look at than its predecessor, has an improved screen, it’s waterproof up to 30 metres and there are parts of the Timeline operating system that give us hope for the future. It also trumps the Apple Watch and every Android Wear watch for battery life with at least five days of juice from a single charge.”
What owners say
On Amazon, the Pebble Time has a 4.3/5 score based on 210 user reviews. Users wrote:
“Possibly my favourite gadget of all time.”
“It was far more useful than I had ever hoped it would be and I was surprised to find that I felt lost without it. Luckily, unlike other smartwatches, it only needed charging weekly rather than daily, so I rarely had to remove it.”
“Well I have to say I’ve never been happier with a device, especially one so intimate which remains fixed to your wrist on show for all to see.”

How good a deal is this?
This is a great deal, considering you’re getting a 50% discount. And although the Pebble Time is now getting on a bit, it’s still over £100 cheaper than its original launch price, which means it’s definitely a bargain worth considering. There are plenty of more advanced smartwatches out there, but with this deal in mind, the Pebble Time is arguably one of the best value propositions.
