Signs of ageing...?
The introduction of ultra affordable LCD sporting players like the Sansa Clip and even Creative’s own Stone Plus seemed to suggest time was up for screen-less brigade, but Creative is determined to have another bash…
Harking back to the days of memory key shaped players is the ‘MuVo T100’, an entry level number with support for drag and drop music and data transfer (it is a memory key!) and MP3, WMA, WAV and Audible codec compatibility.
A ‘Bass Boost’ for “extra impact” also harks back to the days of yesteryear while a 10 hour battery life again shows its cheap and cheerful roots. Still, with a choice of colours (black, white and vibrant pink!) and surprisingly capacious 2GB or 4GB capacity options, the T100 could certainly appeal at the right price.
Sadly on this front however the T100 doesn’t look like it is going to cut the mustard. No UK pricing was announced with its official press release but a quick hunt around the web reveals the 2Gb and 4GB versions will be launched in Singapore for 89 and 149 Singapore dollars respectively. This translates to £29.50 for the 2GB and £49.50 for 4GB which sees it comfortably out muscled by SanDisk’s 2GB Clip which retails for just £30 yet features an OLED display, FM radio, mic and 15 hour battery life.
We like you Creative, we really do, but it looks like you’ve missed the boat with this one…
