Corsair's 550MHz memory modules are its fastest yet and now run at CAS 2.5 for both Intel and AMD platforms.
Corsair has announced details of its fastest ever DDR modules, running at 550MHz. They also feature very aggressive latencies of 2.5-4-4-8. If you wish to drop down to 400MHz, the modules typically support even lower 2-2-2-5 latencies.
The new parts are
• TwinX1024-4400C25 matched pair of 512MB, DDR550, 2.5-4-4-8, black XMS modules
• TwinX1024-4400C25PT matched pair of 512MB, DDR550, 2.5-4-4-8, platinum XMS modules.
TwinX kits are tested as a matched pair at their rated specifications and packaged together immediately after passing test, guaranteeing that the customer receives a product that has been verified in the dual-channel environment. These modules include Corsair’s classic black or platinum aluminium heat spreaders for improved heat dissipation.
Up till now AMD systems tended not be be able to run with latencies as low as in Intel based systems. However, Corsair VP of Applications Engineering John Beekley, says, “we’ve tested these modules in our labs on a number of 875P, 865PE and 939-pin Athlon64 and FX based motherboards with extremely impressive results. This is the first time we’ve been able to run memory at 550MHz on both Intel and AMD platforms at CAS 2.5!”
The memory is available now from resellers and DIMMs are also available as individual 512MB modules.
