Coolbox is the Swiss army knife of toolboxes

Toolboxes have their place, but they’re not exactly exciting. Until now. Meet the Coolbox, the Swiss army knife of toolboxes.

It looks like a regular toolbox, but it’s up to its eyeballs in tech features. There’s a rechargeable battery so you can juice up your phone, a phone dock and built-in speakers. Just place your handset on top and you can play music. Maybe even whistle while you work.

It has wheels, so you can cart it around like a piece of wheelie luggage, and a whiteboard on the inside of the lid, so you can jot down what other jobs need doing. There’s even a stand for your tablet, so you can watch DIY instructional videos before drilling into a wall.

Of course, you need some refreshment when you’re finished. It has its own ice compartment for chilling beers, complete with a bottle opener on the front. Nice touch.

Press a button to activate the LED lights. You’ll never have to grip a torch between your teeth again. The top is also magnetic, so washers and screws will stick to it. Very handy, as anyone who’s ever spent hours scrabbling around looking under the sofa will tell you.

It’s sailed past its funding goal, raising over $100,000 in under two days. It reminds us of the Coolest Cooler, which raised over $13 million, making it Kickstarter’s highest-funded project.
