Consumer-ready Oculus Rift set to take centre stage at June 11 event
Oculus VR has announced it’ll be holding a special media event on June 11, with more details surrounding the Oculus Rift consumer launch likely to be firmed up.
The Facebook-owned virtual reality purveyor has sent out invites to the press featuring an image of the headset accompanied by the tag-line “Step into the Rift.”
Keen observers will hope to be treated to the final technical specs at the San Francisco soiree, while Oculus may also choose to reveal the 2015 pre-order date for the Rift.
Those following the launch can probably expect to see a host of developers and software partners on stage with Oculus, as the ground-breaking device’s potential is explored.
The event comes just three days before E3 2015 kicks off in Los Angeles, so attendees may get the chance to take the consumer-ready (or at least closer to consumer-ready) hardware for a spin.
Oculus has already announced pre-orders for the Rift headset will begin before the end of the year, but the company been coy over timescales and pricing until recent weeks.
