Apple now sells toothbrushes. The world’s biggest tech company is flogging a Colgate smart toothbrush as an Apple Store exclusive.
The Bluetooth-connected Colgate E1 brush creates a map of your mouth and offers real-time feedback on 16 brushing zones.
Data is synced back to an iOS-exclusive Colgate Connect app, which has an Apple Watch extension.
Colgate is also promising an artificial intelligent built handle, with sensors detecting the position and orientation of the brush.

The app will track your brushing habits over time while giving feedback geared at improving your twice-daily dental hygiene prowess.
Colgate says: “The learning algorithm develops recommendations based on your individual brushing patterns and shares them with you via the app to improve your brushing performance.”
The Colgate E1 also gamifies the brushing experience, with the “Go Pirate” game enabling youngsters to gain more coins for brushing longer.
Brushers will be able to share data from the app with their dentist. Apple is also giving users the opportunity to opt into its ResearchKit platform and share data with those in the medical profession.
The E1 is available for $99.99 from the Apple Store online, as well as in brick and mortar locations.
