Close-up of claimed Huawei Nexus 6 revealed in video leak

Huawei has long been rumoured to be one of the manufacturers working on the next round of Nexus devices.
Lending credence to that theory is a new video that purports to show the unconfirmed Huawei Nexus 6.
The video, which was posted to Twitter by prolific – and oft-reliable – rumour-spinner OnLeaks, displays a mysterious black handset up close.

What’s more, the video appears to show that the device has a fingerprint scanner positioned below the camera.
That supports earlier theories that the Nexus 6 will carry a biometric scanner for improved security.
Back at this year’s I/O developer conference, Google revealed that its upcoming Android M would focus heavily on fingerprint authentication.
As such, it would make sense that the company’s flagship smartphones, which will likely debut with Android M on board, will feature fingerprint scanners.
It’s also worth noting that the handset in the video appears to be quite large, which matches rumours that Huawei is building a 5.7in device for Google’s Nexus program.

We should also mention that Google has just confirmed LG as a Nexus producer to the Korea Times – LG is reportedly building the 5.2in Nexus 5.
We’ve yet to receive official confirmation from either Google or Huawei regarding a Nexus 6 just yet. Stay tuned.
