Capcom could bring some of its PS4 and Xbox One titles across to Nintendo’s upcoming Switch console.
As part of its FY2016 Q2 Question and Answer Summary, the developer stated it was ‘researching’ the viability of such a move (via VideoGamer).
“We are currently carrying out research with regards to multiplatform implementation of software for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on to the Nintendo Switch.

“However, we do feel that there are differences in the desired direction and the play-style of the Nintendo Switch and those of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
“At Capcom, we determine which platform to release a title for after considering the features of both our software and the hardware in question, believing we must bring the enjoyment of our games to their maximum potential.”
It seems PS4 and Xbox One Capcom games on the Switch is far from a sure thing at this point, then, but it does at least sound promising.

Capcom produces big-name titles such as Resident Evil and Street Fighter, so we’re hoping the ‘research’ leads to something concrete.
The launch trailer for the Nintendo Switch hinted at some big third-party partnerships, with footage of the console seemingly running Skyrim and the NBA 2K series shown during the teaser.
Capcom added: “As a software publisher, we endeavour to develop games that offer enjoyment best suited to each piece of hardware’s features and target users.
“Following first party, in order to introduce our own content we are currently moving forward with internal planning and analysis as a partner company.”
Whether Capcom brings its Xbox One and PS4 titles to the Switch or not, the deveoloper will still likely release Switch-only games, having already established Monster Hunter as a Nintendo-exclusive title.
The hybrid Switch console and handheld is due to launch in March 2017, featuring a tablet-like design, a docking station, detachable controllers, and a kickstand.
