Canon has announced the newest addition to its compact camera line, the Canon IXUS 225 HS with 10x optical zoom and 12.1-megapixel CMOS censor.
Excelling in hi-speed shooting even in low lighting, the Canon IXUS 225 HS packs a raft of high performance creativity options into a slimline metal body.
Also announced are the Canon IXUS 135 and Canon IXUS 132 model duo, which sport slimline bodies whilst packing 28mm 8x optical zoom and 2.7-inch screens. Both offer 16-megapixel sensors with the Canon DIGIC 4 processor, which is capable of producing poster-size images without image quality suffering. The Canon IXUS 135 also provides Wi-Fi capabilities to upload and share pictures to social media sites and GPS geo-tagging to keep track of a user’s holiday destinations.
Canon IXUS 225 HS Features
The Canon IXUS 225 HS features a 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor powered by the Canon DIGIC 5 processor, enabling the camera to perform even in low light scenarios and depicting sunsets and night scenes with reduced flash.
Packing an impressive 28mm wide 10x optical zoom, the Canon IXUS 225 HS will get you closer to the action. The new Canon ZoomPlus technology featured in the model doubles the optical zoom’s reach whilst still retaining image quality.
The Smart Auto feature is capable of detecting up to 32 scenes and once it has found the most appropriate, the Canon IXUS 225 HS will automatically adjust the image setting so the user can get the best shot. Updated creative modes will also give Canon IXUS 225 HS users access to 58 filters such as fish eye and monochrome lenses to enhance their images.
Capable of shooting movies in full HD resolution, the Canon IXUS 225 HS features an advanced optical image stabiliser to ensure smooth video footage and the intelligent IS will combat camera shake by selecting from 7 different modes depending on the user’s situation.
Users will be able to quickly upload and share their snaps with friends and family via the camera’s in-built Wi-Fi connectivity and with GPS geo-tagging capabilities on-board, they will be able to see exactly where those photographs were taken.
Despite featuring a 3-inch PureColour II G LCD screen that can be viewed from all angles even in strong sunlight, the Canon IXUS 225 HS Eco Mode conserves the camera’s battery, allowing the user to take 30 per cent more photos on one charge.
