While many will disagree, since the original launched 18
months ago, no tablet has been able to come near surpassing the Apple iPad.
Now many of you will be getting hot under the collar at this
blatantly pro-Apple statement, and that’s alright, because you have the chance
to have your say. Thanks to the TrustedReviews 2011 Awards powered by Duracell,
you now have a chance to prove the statement wrong.
The Best Tablet 2011 category is one of the most intriguing in the entire
Awards, as Android tablet have finally begun to at least challenge the iPad’s
dominance. In April 2010, Apple stole a march on the rest of the industry by
releasing the original iPad and ever since the likes of Samsung, Motorola, Acer
and Asus have been playing catch up.
The iPad certainly has its faults. No expandable memory, a
closed eco-system and a relatively high price means that it just won’t be for
everyone. However it has proved hugely popular with the general public and reviewers alike.
This year we have seen a number of genuine contenders for
Apple’s crown. The first was the Asus Eee Pad Transformer which, when combined
with its dock, can operate as a laptop – albeit one running Android software.
Another more conventional tablet is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which was a
huge improvement over the previous generation Samsung Galaxy Tab.

with the statement that iPad is still king.
