Infinity Ward has revealed that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released on the Nintendo Wii U when it launches in November.
Mark Rubin, Infinity Ward’s executive producer, seemingly confirmed the Call of Duty: Ghosts Wii U release during an interview at E3 2013, despite Activision refusing to comment on whether the upcoming FPS instalment would arrive on the Wii U.
Rubin confirmed that the game will launch for the Wii U, but wasn’t able to give any specific details as to when it will be released. The PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will launch on November 5, but Rubin suggests a Wii U release is “probably in the next-gen bin”, so could ship with the Xbox One and PS4 editions.

EA Games has already said it may not ever make any more Wii U titles because of the console’s lack of power and compatibility with the Frostbite 3 engine that will power titles like Battlefield 4.
Analysts have suggested that other third party publishers could follow suit, choosing to focus on the Xbox One, PS4 and current-generation platforms. If this is so, the Wii U could face a bleak future.
“EA recently announced that it had no Wii U games in development, and it remains a possibility that the publisher will abandon the platform entirely,” said Michael Pachter, a research analyst at Wedbush Securities. “Should other third parties follow EA’s lead, the Wii U could be relegated to a first party only platform.”
The two latest Call of Duty: Ghosts trailers were launched at an event just hours before E3 2013 and showcased single-player gameplay and more details on the new canine companion for the squad, Riley.
