Call of Duty: Ghosts pre-order bonus announced, ‘Free Fall’ multiplayer map confirmed

Publisher Activision has confirmed an upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts pre-order bonus, with early orders to see gamers rewarded with an exclusive, and dynamic multiplayer map dubbed ‘Free Fall’.

Set in a collapsing sky scraper, the Free Fall Call of Duty: Ghosts map will be made available as a free download to those who pre-order their copies of the next eagerly awaited addition of the much loved COD franchise.

Featuring a raft of dynamic, ever changing environmental elements, the Free Fall map will reportedly see games trapped within partly demolished sky scraper which has collapsed against a second building. With air strikes still coming, the map will drop and contort at various intervals, creating a constantly adapting game environment.

“Dynamic map events change the way players approach the game, and Free Fall does a great job illustrating this new mechanic,” Mark Rubin, Executive Producer on Call of Duty: Ghosts stated. “As the match progresses, the geometry of the world continues to change and players need to adjust on the fly or else.”

He added: “It’s a really fun new feature that adds layers of strategy and constantly evolving gameplay options for players. And this is just one of the many new approaches we’re putting into Ghosts’ multiplayer across the board.”

With environments continuing to change throughout the multiplayer battles, Activision has suggested that the Free Fall map will see Call of Duty: Ghosts gamers forced into finding new vantage points and siege opportunities throughout, creating a more engaging, challenging experience.

A pre-order bonus that Activision has confirmed will be made available through undisclosed “select retailers,” a Call of Duty: Ghosts release date has been confirmed for November 5 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms. Those looking to snap up the game for the next-gen Xbox One and PS4 will be forced to wait until later in the year.
