Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a sci-fi shooter developed by Treyarch, and is the twelfth entry into the Call of Duty series. It’s a direct sequel to 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and was released on November 6, 2015.
What we said
We gave Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 a 8/10 score when it launched, praising its multiplayer, zombie-mode, and vibrant sci-fi style. Here’s our verdict:
“How you feel about Black Ops 3 as a package will depend on what you’re looking for in a shooter. If your focus is on competitive play, then this will be your favourite CoD of recent years. If you and your mates love to smash things up in co-op, Black Ops 3 gives you plenty of opportunity, so get stuck in. Yet it’s hard to escape the nagging feeling that this would have been a better CoD had Treyarch focused less on the co-op and the extras, and a little more on delivering their best CoD campaign to date. When it’s good, Black Ops 3 is very, very good. When it’s not, it’s rather disappointing.”

“Black Ops 3 is miles better than Advanced Warfare. Multiplayer is fun. I don’t know why it’s getting bad user reviews. It’s a good game. Maps are good, a lot of variety.

“This is (in my opinion) the greatest COD ever. I have played all of them since Modern Warfare and World At War, but still think this one is the best. It looks amazing, it plays great, the optimisation has finally come around, and also zombies is still the same old, classic fun we used to have as friends and family.”
