Call of Duty 2016 to be set in space – reports

The next entry in the first-person shooter franchise will be set in space, offering zero-gravity combat in a futuristic setting.

Infinity Ward plan to bring Call of Duty into the world of science fiction, far beyond anything we’ve seen before.

According to industry source Shinobi, the upcoming game will be “full-on sci-fi” taking place in the “very far future.”

It will not be a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Ghosts, which received a mixed reception back in 2013.

Infinity Ward also developed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its 2009 sequel, both of which were beloved by fans.

Call of Duty 2016 is expected to launch this November for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda are also set to release in the coming fiscal year, so Call of Duty will have some fierce competition in the science fiction department.
