(By Far) The World’s Smallest Memory Key

Gordon is blown away by the Thumbelina-ness of Kingmax's industry changing flash drive.

It seems to be a day for itsy bitsy storage products, so I’m just going to go with the flow. Especially when they are as cool as Kingmax’s latest memory key.

Dubbed the ‘Super Stick’, this is one product that truly lives up to its name. At just 39 x 12 x 2mm this is absolutely minute. The weight… wait for it… wait for it… ”five grams”!

Kingmax seems to be a company that is reading my mind today too as its press release takes time out to rant against the overuse of phrases like ‘mini’ and ‘compact’. No mention of ‘Credit Card Sized’, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t like the way it is bandied about either.

To create its form busting size, the Super Stick is based on microSD technology (the smallest flash memory on the market) and has a USB2.0 interface with nippy 20MBps read and write speeds. Even cooler, is the fact that it is waterproof and comes in sizes ranging from 256MB to an incredible 2GB. Data retention is claimed to last 10 years and for the life of me I can’t work out why I don’t have one of these in my pocket right now (perhaps I do, and I just can’t feel it!).

Kingmax has certainly taken memory keys onto the next level with the Super Stick. Will get your pricing and availability details as soon as we have them, because we’re desperate to know too!
