Butterfleye is a more efficient home monitoring camera

Want to keep tabs on your home while you’re away? Butterfleye can help.
It’s a smart camera for the home, and it promises to be more efficient than most.
When not recording, it rests in an idle state that uses less power, meaning it can last weeks between charges. It’ll hold 12 hours of footage, which is a hell of a lot of action. It will also work anywhere – even if there’s no Wi-Fi, it’ll record and upload the footage once it has a connection.
Like most of these types of cameras, it has a microphone so you can speak to your pet or child from wherever you are in the world. Just don’t scare them too much.
While it only records when it senses movement or sound, you can check in on the home at any time. Worried you left the window open? Fire it up and have a look.

It promises to be so smart it won’t register a change in lighting or trees blowing in the wind through the window. It’ll only alert you through the app when some actual sound or movement occurs in your home.
It’s raised almost 500 per cent of its funding goal and will ship in December. It’s yours for $199 (£130).
