Burnout Crashes Onto Mobile Phones

Misguided: n. One who considers driving games on a mobile phone fun.

It saddens me to see that EA’s recent split hasn’t done anything to improve the quality of games coming out of the prolific studio. While I may have been slightly humoured by the idea of a Sims bowling game for the iPod today’s announcement takes the biscuit. Although we here at TrustedReviews, (s)except Gordon,(/s) like to think we have a reasonable sense of humour (because I have a ”wonderful” sense of humour – Gordon), this is just too much for me.

If there was any platform that the (utterly fantastic) Burnout series of games was not designed for then it was the mobile phone. There is no way I can see that the chaos, fun and sense of speed that made the console versions such a hit possibly being translated to a phone – full stop! EA is saying that you should be able to (s)avoid(/s) buy the mobile version of Burnout in August and unfortunately I’m sure that the target demographic (read: owners of modified Citroën Saxos) will flock to this like flies drawn to the blue neon lights under their cars.
