Festive fairy lights could be hampering your home broadband network, a new report claims.
UK telecoms regulator Ofcom has released new information detailing how interference from electronics – like Christmas lights – could impact wireless connections in the home.

The regulator continues: “It could be down to something as simple as interference from other electronic devices, such as a microwave oven, baby monitor, a lamp – or even Christmas fairy lights.”

Ofcom’s Connected Nations 2015 report debuts alongside a new app that lets people check whether their in-home Wi-Fi is working as well as it could.
The Ofcom Wi-Fi checker will provide details on the quality of a user’s wireless internet signal, and give helpful hints on how to improve their connection.
