BlackBerry Z10 officially unveiled as first BB10 handset
Following today’s BlackBerry 10 release date, BlackBerry parent company RIM has officially unveiled the first BB10 OS handset, the BlackBerry Z10.
Entering the realms of reality following a raft of recent leaks and rumours, the new BlackBerry Z10 has been formally outed as the flagship BlackBerry 10 handset, playing host to a 4.2-inch touchscreen display alongside the long awaited and repeatedly delayed BB10 OS.
BlackBerry Z10 Specs
Taking the BlackBerry brand in a new direction, the BB10 OS powered Blackzberry Z10 has done away with the company’s trademark full QWERTY keyboard, instead opting to take a modern, iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 rivalling, smartphone approach with a 4.2-inch LCD touchscreen display.
Offering stunning visuals thanks to a 1280 x 768p resolution and 356 pixels-per-inch image density, the BlackBerry Z10 screen is partnered with a zippy 1.5GHz dual-core processor to create a strong all round handset. Further bolstering the BlackBerry Z10 specs sheet, the first device to come pre-installed with the new BB10 OS adds 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD, and 2GB of RAM into the mix.
Lining up at just 9mm thick, the new BlackBerry Z10 features a 10 hour talk time battery life and a claimed 60 hours of audio playback or 305 standby time.
With the BlackBerry Z10 camera contingent completing the impressive BlackBerry Z10 specs collection, the follow-on to the likes of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the BlackBerry Torch 9860 sees an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities paired with a second, 2-megapixel forward-facing camera, ideal for video calls.
Playing host to a micro SIM card, the BlackBerry Z10, which is currently available in a black colour form ahead of an upcoming white BlackBerry Z10 launch, is compatible with the newly relaunched BlackBerry World app and entertainment store.
