BlackBerry Reveals World Tour

Another day, another RIM security leak...

Guess what? RIM security ”isn’t” rock solid…

Following the leak of every single smartphone the Canadian smartphone giant attempts to secretly bring to market is yet another slip in the form of the ‘BlackBerry Tour’.

Codenamed the ‘9630’, the Tour is the first BlackBerry handset to court CDMA and EVDO Revision A for North American networks as well as GSM, EDGE and UMTS/HSPA for European carriers. Jet setters this could be the handset for you.

Outside the globe trotting functionality, the Tour should prove familiar script for many with a 2.44in 320 x 480 pixel display, 3.2MP camera, WiFi, aGPS, an FM tuner, Bluetooth with A2DP and smallish internal memory (256MB) augmented by a microSD expansion slot. Size and weight all fall in with typical BlackBerry Qwerty devices at 112 x 62 x 14mm and 130g.

Initially the BlackBerry Tour will appear on US networks with Sprint the first to snap it up, but given the international friendliness of the handset don’t be surprised to see it turn up this side of the Atlantic. After all, if you make a phone like this surely that’s the point…?
