Blackberry 9000 Photo & Info Leaks

Will 2008 be even better for RIM than 2007?

While Apple and – to a lesser extent – Google took all the mobile phone headlines last year, RIM’s impressive Blackberry line up made massive inroads into the consumer sector during 2007 and still continued its relentless march on the corporate world. So one day into 2008 and the hype is already building again…

A leaked photo of what is claimed to be the much anticipated ‘9000’ series shows a heavily redesigned version of the excellent Curve with larger keys and an ultra thin form factor.

HSDPA is expected to be included too along with html email support which, if true, would rocket the line back to the bleeding edge. On a sad note however the tipster said “There is and will be no touch screen for a long time. From the multiple people in multiple departments I know that work there who usually give me little to no information unless I use information I’ve already obtained, the touch screen is even an internal rumour.”

As for a release timeframe, don’t expect to see the 9000 line for six to eight months and there are likely to be changes yet before release. That said, 2008 looks like being yet another big one for RIM and we personally can’t wait to see what it has in store for us…
