BitFenix has shown off a couple of its new upcoming PC cases in the shape of the new larger ATX version of the Pandora and a more compact version of the massive Atlas cube case.
The original Pandora is a mini-ITX case with a distinctive curved metal front panel and embedded colour display. It’s a nice looking machine that has generally been well received.
So, BitFenix has taken the same designed and scaled it up. Except it’s not quite the same because the front and side are no longer aluminium. Instead the whole chassis is steel. This means BitFenix can ensure the case stays rigid but does also make it heavier.
Otherwise it’s on the money, with the same distinctive curved front and embedded display. That latter you can plug into an internal USB header on your motherboard and feed any colour picture you like to have it shown on the front of the case.
Meanwhile, the Atlas, which is BitFenix’s enormous cube case, where the motherboard, CPU and graphics card fill one side of the case and the power supply, hard drives and any extras like loose cabling can be stowed.
The original that launched last year was huge so BitFenix has tweaked the design slightly to shrink it by around 10cm in each direction.
The result is that it can’t quite fit as many water cooling radiators in as before but can still accommodate two 360mm and two 240mm radiators at once.
Perhaps the product that most caught our eye, though, were the company’s new magnetic LED strips. If you’re into your PC modding and want to reallly easily add some lighting, these are ideal as they just plug into a standard Molex connector and you can just slap them onto any steel part of your case build. Easy Peasy.
The Pandora and lighting strips will be available imminently but the Atlas is still a little way off.
