Bethesda shipped record-breaking 12m copies of Fallout 4 for launch
Its seems fair to say the launch of Fallout 4 has been a huge success for Bethesda. The gaming giant has announced shipments totaling 12 million units for the first day of sales.
The company is refusing to say exactly how many of those copies were sold to customers, but is reporting record disc and digital copies across the various platforms.
Bethesda says sales were “in excess of $750m” on day one alone.
It has also received word from retailers claiming Fallout 4 to be the most pre-ordered game of 2015, while it also claims the highly-disappointing Pop-Boy Edition was the fastest selling collectors version for any game ever.
Meanwhile, 1.2 million Steam users in total were playing the game on the first day of release.
