The first batch of downloadable content for Bethesda’s blockbusting Fallout 4 will arrive next month, with the developer promising an influx of add-ons throughout 2016.
The Automatron DLC will be released in March for £8/£10 and will require players to hunt down hordes of evil robots released into the Commonwealth by The Mechanist. Gamers will also be able to custom-build their own robots using an array of mods on offer.
In April, the second add-on called Wasteland Workshop (£4/$5) sounds equally awesome. The adventure will enable Fallout 4 gamers to create traps and set them for the raiders and Deathclaws roaming the wastelands. Better still, you’ll be able to tame and train the creatures you snare, or just set them on each other.

The final announced release, Far Habor, is the largest landmass for an add-on Bethesda has ever created, a fact reflected in the £20/$25 price tag.
The description from a Bethesda blog post reads: “A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost?
“Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.”
The company said is has more than $60 (around £40) worth of new Fallout adventures coming throughout 2016.
As a result, the price of the season plan has been jacked up pretty considerably, from $29.99 to $49.99 and from £24.99 to £39.99. Those who’ve already purchased the season pass won’t see a difference, only those purchasing after 1 March.
“This is our way of saying thanks to all our loyal fans who have believed in us and supported us over the years,” says Bethesda.
