Trusted Reviews’ Prime Day Guide:

What is the best TV in 2019?What is the best affordable TV in 2019?

What is the best TV in 2019?

When it comes to TVs, size matters. Depending on room and usage, you may want a large screen for movie marathons, or a slightly smaller screen for that cosy gaming cave. An average TV screen sits at around 45-inches in any given household, but Prime Day is the ideal opportunity to go bigger for the usual price of a smaller set-up.

TVs come more feature-packed than ever, with the likes of Ambilight to create a more immersive visual experience, or allow it to blend into your décor when not in use. On top of that, throw into the mix TVs equipped with 4K Ultra HD resolutions, HDR and True Colour for crisp viewing right down to the last detail.

Smart TVs are a must, allowing easy online surfing and streaming from your favourite services. You can also mirror devices and find a host of on-demand content. Great for those who aren’t in the habit of watching much live tele.

You also need to know what you require from the TV. If you occasionally watch terrestrial TV then don’t worry about investing crazy sums of money in an expensive set. If you’re an ardent gamer with a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X, you may want to invest in a UHD set than can do justice to that increased gaming performance.

If you’re a cinephile with a UHD Blu-Ray player, it’d be worth your while to invest in a HDR set. OLEDs offer gorgeous contrast, but LED LCD TVs can go brighter, helping 4K HDR images to pop that much more. These types of set will let you enjoy more immersive picture fidelity, though top-performing HDR TVs aren’t cheap.

In good ol’ 2019, the range of top-notch TVs on the marketplace can seem baffling, but there are a few that truly stand out from the crowd. If you’re looking for the best that 2019 has to offer (so far) there’s Samsung’s Q90R QLED and LG’s C9 and E9 OLED, both of which are fantastic 4K OLED sets.

What is the best affordable TV in 2019?

Thanks to the competitiveness of the current TV market, bagging yourself a proper 55-inch set no longer means having to remortgage your house. If you’ve taken a gander at our roundup of the best affordable TVs of 2019 then you’ll already know that the Hisense A6200 takes the cake for its in-built smart features and ridiculous value for money (thanks to an RRP of £379).

If you don’t mind splashing out a bit more – while still keeping it under the £500 mark – the Cello C55SFS4K can usually be found with a massive discount these days and features a very intuitive version of Android OS, alongside crisp 4K visuals.
