What happened last year?

Amazon Prime day always features a solid choice of banging TV deals. Last year we saw the retail giant slashing as much as 30% of TVs from big name companies including LG, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba and Philips. These included a top notch 55-inch OLED from Sony which scored 8/10 in our review.

What TV deals can we expect?

This Prime Day we’re expecting to see even bigger TV discounts. Numerous brands announced new TV lines and technologies at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. Retailers, such as Amazon, will be keen to clear stock of the older models as a result. We’re expecting significant discounts on a number of tellies as a result. We may even see a few OLEDs drop below the hallowed £1000 price point – here’s hoping at least.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is a yearly event that happens before Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s an Amazon specific event that sees the retailer offer flash sales on a variety of products. Tech is always a big part of the event with everything from TVs to Wi-Fi extenders getting hefty discounts. Unlike Black Friday it doesn’t happen on a specific day each year. We’re expecting this year’s Prime Day to kick off mid-July.  If you want to learn more about Prime Day 2019, you can visit our Prime Day hub here.
