Rivalry between Netflix and Amazon is as fierce as ever, it seems.
Netflix is “in talks” with the BBC about airing the new Top Gear series, a report claims.
The streaming giant is said to have seen clips of the new show, and may be interested in adding the series to its roster.
That’s according to a report by The Guardian that claims Netflix wants to “go head to head” with Jeremy Clarkson’s new Amazon Video series.
It isn’t clear how much licensing fees would be for the new BBC show, but Amazon reportedly paid £160 million to hire ex-Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

The Amazon series is due to air in autumn, while the BBC’s Top Gear revamp will arrive towards the end of May.
BBC has hired a brand-new team of presenters to host the show, including Friends star Matt LeBlanc and radio DJ Chris Evans.
Neither the BBC nor Netflix have commented on the matter of licensing talks.
