Battlefield 4 Release Date rumoured as “Fall 2013”

The Battlefield 4 release date has potentially been leaked by a Chinese gaming website ahead of the game’s official launch later today.

A poster for the upcoming EA shooter has appeared on Gamersky listing a Fall 2013 Battlefield 4 release date and promising a pair of “real Battlefield 4 dog tags” to anyone pre-ordering the FPS.

The game is due to launch at an official EA event tonight, starting at 7pm local time in San Francisco for the videogame press, coinciding with the annual Game Developers Conference in the American city. That means UK gamers will have to wait until 2am GMT tomorrow morning to find out any official news on the upcoming Battlefield 4 game.

EA has already confirmed that the Battlefield 4 release date will be announced at the event, potentially along with some of the first gameplay footage, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Until then, fans of the series can immerse themselves in the Battlefield 4 teaser site launched by EA last week. Although at first glance the image is obscured by a heavy layer of rain, once a user signs into the page the site reveals the image beneath.

The recent flurry of images posted on the teaser site seemed to reveal the game’s location too. If the picture is correct, Battlefield 4 could move the game’s action from the Iran setting of Battlefield 3 to Shanghai. New pictures also depicted a burning aircraft carrier (further adding to speculation the game will feature naval warfare) and what looks to be a female Asian soldier.

We already know that the Battlefield 4 game will launch on the next-generation PS4 and the yet to be confirmed Xbox 720 console, but EA has been careful not to give away many details about the follow-on to the exceptionally well-received Battlefield 3.

Will you be staying tuned for more details surrounding Battlefield 4? Do you think Battlefield 4 will be one of the eagerly awaited titles of 2013? Let us know via the TrustedReviews Facebook and Twitter pages or the comments below.
