Asus Zenbook Infinity launched as 13.3-inch ultrabook with Gorilla Glass 3 lid

Asus has just unveiled its Asus Zenbook Infinity Ultrabook at Computex 2013, playing host to a Gorilla Glass 3 lid and keyboard surround.

Taking advantage of the new Gorilla Glass 3 technology on the rear of the display and on the area surrounding the keyboard, the Asus Zenbook Infinity has been launched as the Taiwanese company’s new ultrabook.

Asus Zenbook Infinity Features

The Asus Zenbook Infinity features a 13.3-inch full touchscreen display running Windows 8, powered by an Intel 28W Haswell dual-core processor.

Playing host to Gorilla Glass 3 technology, the ultrabook protects the rear of the display with Corning’s scratch-resistant glass and surrounds the keyboard with it as well. Following in the footsteps of the Acer Aspire S3 and Aspire A7, the Asus Zenbook Infinity has apparently already passed a variety of drop tests, though its actual durability will be tested come launch.

It packs two USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort, a micro-HDMI and an SD card reader in terms of connectivity, and is just 15.5mm thick. The Zenbook Infinity actually slices 14 per cent off the previous line of Asus Zenbooks, making it one of the thinnest ultrabooks on offer.

The keyboard is also backlit for practical and aesthetic qualities, and anyone thinking it resembles the MacBook Air will be forgiven.  Despite the MacBook Air’s slim proportions though, the Asus Zenbook Infinity is skinnier than its Apple rival.

A full specs list has yet to be released, but we’ll update you as soon as we have any more information on the super-thin, glass ultrabook.

Asus Zenbook Infinity Release Date and Price
