Asus has unveiled its latest netbooks which will sport the
new third generation of Intel’s Atom processors, codenamed Cedar Trail.
The two new netbooks, Asus Eee PC 1025C and 1025CE, were
unveiled in Asus’ in-house magazine called Tech in Style. Among the plethora of
Christmas gift ideas in the seasonal edition of the magazine, are the 1025C and
1025CE netbooks which have yet to be officially launched.
Both models will come with one of the new Cedar Trail
processors, the 1.66GHz N2600 or the 1.83GHz N2800, both of which are built on
a 32nm process.
The netbooks will have 10.1in backlit LED WSVGA screens, up
to 500GB hard drive, up to 2GB of DDR3 RAM, DVD or Blu-ray drive and will
measure 263 x 178 x 20.7 – 34.4mm. Both are promising 12 hours battery life. They will also both be available in a range of colours.
The 1025CE is the more premium model adding both USB 3.0 and
USB Charger+, allowing you to charge your mobile phone while the laptop is
off. Both models also support Wi-Fi Direct meaning you don’t need a separate
router to network with other devices.
While the netbooks themselves are not available to buy yet,
we suspect that with Christmas looming, they will be unveiled sooner rather
than later and we will then get some pricing for these models.
