Asus MeMO Pad 8 and MeMO Pad 10 UK release date and pricing announced

Asus has announced the UK release date and pricing for its duo of tablets, the Asus MeMO Pad 8 and Asus MeMO Pad 10.

Both the MeMO Pad 8 and MeMO Pad 10 will be available from October 21 for £199.99, despite their differing screen sizes.

The two tablets can be purchased from Amazon and Ebuyer next week, with increased availability for the MeMO 8 at Argos, Littlewoods and Tesco.

Asus MeMO Pad 8 and MeMO Pad 10 Features

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has an 8-inch 1280 x 800p HD resolution screen and comes with a 1.6GHz quad-core processor.

Offering 9 hours of battery life, the MeMO Pad 8 comes with 16GB of internal storage, bolstered by a microSD card slot.

The tablet is capable of capturing 720p HD video and comes with dual speakers with Asus SonicMaster audio technology.

The 8-inch option has a rear 5-megapixel camera as well as a 1.2-megapixel front-facing snapper.

The MeMO Pad 10 is essentially the same beast, with a 10-inch 1280 x 800p HD display and an increased 9.5 hour battery life.

The 10-inch variety does drop the rear camera specs to 2-megapixels, although there really aren’t that many people who take pictures with their tablet.

The MeMO Pad 8 weighs 250g and measures 127mm across, while the MeMO Pad is understandably a bit beefier at 522g.

Both tablets can be purchased with a TriCover case that provides protection for the back and screen of the MeMO Pads. Availabe in three colours, the cases also have an Apple Smartcover-esque folding cover for propping up the tablets for typing and video watching.
