Are another pair of Apple headphones facing serious delays?

The wait for Apple’s headline-grabbing AirPods headphones continues, and the delay-hit wireless ear buds might not be the company’s only pair of audio enablers to have been pushed back.

According to new reports, the Apple-made BeatsX headphones are facing delays of “at least 2-3 months,” boo.

Despite still being listed on the Apple Store as being available for shipping “this Fall”, the wireless in-ear headphones have yet to make an on-sale appearance despite winter now firmly rolling in. What’s more, authorised reseller B&H Photo Video has now started warning those who made an early order that delays are coming.

“This email is being sent in regards to your order for 1 of the Beats by Dr. Dre BeatsX In-Ear Headphones (Black),” the message sent to one customer read.

It added: “We regret to inform you that the manufacturer has informed us that they still do not know when they will begin shipping this item but they do know that it will take at least 2-3 months. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this delay has caused you.”

Although having been unveiled alongside the Beats Powerbeats 3 and Beats Solo 3 Wireless at the iPhone 7 launch back in September, if accurate, this delay could see the BeatsX pushed back until around February.

Set to drop in both black and white guises, the BeatsX headphones feature an 8-hour battery life and a Flex-Form, neck band cable for comfortable, all-day use.

Apple has yet to comment on the reports or offer further details on when the BeatsX headphones will drop.

It’s currently unclear why the BeatsX headphones are facing delays, although recent reports have suggested Bluetooth pairing issues could be holding up the AirPods release.
