Apple Watch prices have been revealed and the wearable isn’t coming cheep.
Putting a premium on entering the wearable revolution, Apple has confirmed that Apple Watch prices will start at £299 for the entry-level, 38mm aluminium bodied Apple Watch Sport.
An asking price already higher than that of its chief Android Wear rivals, the Moto 360 (£199) and the LG G Watch R (£195), prices quickly escalate further.
With a number of stopping off points along the costly route to top-of-the-line Apple Watch Edition ownership, the most expensive Apple Watch will set those with deep pockets back a staggering £13,500.
“The Apple Watch Edition is something unique and very special. Their cases are made from 18-Carat solid gold,” Apple CEO, Tim Cook said in announcing the prices
“There will limited quantities of Apple Watch Edition and it will only be available in select retail stores. Apple Watch Edition prices will start from $10,000.”
Apple Watch Price: The full breakdown
With three Apple Watch iterations to be offerings, each iteration to come in two sizes, 38mm and 42mm, and countless strap options to be available for all, there are a fair few Apple Watch prices to sift through.
The 38mm Apple Watch Sport, with its aluminium body and rubberised strap, will cost £299. The 42mm option will set wannabe owners back £339.
Moving into standard Apple Watch territory, things get a little bit more complicated. The base 38mm and 42mm models are priced at £479 and £519 respectively when the stainless steel body is bundled with a rubber sport band.
With 20 Apple Watch offerings to be available on day one, the various strap options quickly see the prices jump.
Moving to a classic strap with buckle, the 42mm watch skips on to a £599 asking price. Adding a Milanese Loop strap or Leather Loop band sees the same price jump.
Things don’t stop there though. A modern buckle band sees the 38mm watch move to a £649 price point while a Stainless Steel Link strap pushes the 42mm Space Black Apple Watch to a wallet-busting £949 asking price.
For those deep of pocket and poor of taste, there is an even more outlandish option, the 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition.
Prices here start at £8,000 and increase to a frankly ridiculous £13,5000.

If you’ve got your pennies at the ready, the Apple Watch release date has been confirmed for April 24.
If you can’t wait that long to splash the cash, pre-orders will kick off two weeks earlier on April 10.
