The Apple Watch 2 rumour mill has started to churn, with the second-gen wearable reportedly lining up for launch next year.
With the original Apple Watch having been officially showcased last September ahead of an April 24 release, it is unsurprising that a reworked model would not land until 2016.
According to new reports (via GforGames), which cite unnamed insider sources, the Apple Watch 2, like its predecessor, will feature a P-OLED display.
Again like the Cupertino-based company’s debut wearable, the Apple Watch 2’s display is reportedly being produced by LG.
Given the Korean manufacturer’s market-leading position in P-OLED display production, the firm currently produces the panels for 68 per cent of the world’s smartwatch offerings.
Despite chatter of a 2016 Apple Watch 2 release, it is currently unclear if the device will follow a 12 month product cycle and land in April, or launch later in the year, possibly alongside new iPhone handsets.

Earlier this week Apple unveiled a number of new features heading to the Apple Watch as part of a watchOS 2 software jump.
Demoed during WWDC 2015, it was confirmed that the wearable will add native app support for the first time this autumn. New watch faces and improved security measures are also inbound.
