Apple starts production of iPhone 6S with Force Touch display
Apple has reportedly started production of the iPhone 6S already, with Force Touch again rumoured to be part of the package.
We’re expecting to see the iPhone 6S launched some time in September, in keeping with previous models. A new report from a reputable source only adds weight to that.
Last Friday, Bloomberg‘s sources revealed that Apple had begun early production of its next smartphone.
The new phone, according to the report, will look very much like the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus – which is a familiar trait of the ‘S’ series that comes out every other year in between the main numbered releases.
For example, the iPhone 5S was a dead ringer for the iPhone 5.
It’s also stated that there’ll be two sizes of this iPhone 6S release, one with a 4.7-inch screen and one with a 5.5-inch screen. Again, that’s just like the current iPhone model.
But the most interesting thing here is yet more confirmation that the iPhone 6S will contain Force Touch technology, just like the Apple Watch and the new MacBook.

Force Touch adds a pressure-sensitive element to the touchscreen. Examples of this in use on the aforementioned Apple products include pressing hard for special functions or facilitating an analogue fast-forward function in the media player.
The report claims that while final assembly of the iPhone 6S is expected to be relatively easy thanks to its familiar design, production of the unique Force Touch component itself could prove trickier.
