Apple’s iPhone 7 will look like this, probably

Like all Apple smartphones, the iPhone 7 has been heavily leaked prior to its September launch, which makes videos like this possible.
A Dutch designer and animator has created a design concept video for the iPhone 7 Plus, based on the endless rumours and leaks we’ve seen in recent weeks. Jermaine Smit has a history of producing such concepts, but says this will be his last.
“It’s a fast-made concept so it won’t be my best,” writes Smit. “Sorry for that, but this is all I could manage in the time I had.”
Check it out:
There are four important design points to note about Smit’s concept, the first of which is the inclusion of dual cameras. The iPhone 7 has been heavily rumoured to feature two image sensors on the rear of the phone. This is said to provide added functionality – perhaps depth-sensing or adjustable focus.
The second change is the absence of a headphone jack. It’s widely speculated that Apple plans to abandon the 3.5mm port on the iPhone 7. Instead, it’s said that Apple intends for users to connect headphones via the Lightning connector. Some headphones already offer this functionality, although we’d guess that Apple will sell an adapter for those with lug-huggers that don’t permit such a connection.
Third up is the antenna banding, or lack thereof. Gone are the prominent plastic strips on the back of the phone that blighted previous iPhones. The antenna bands have been a sticking point for Apple for a while, but they’re tipped to finally disappear with the iPhone 7.
Finally, note that the design is basically the same as the iPhone 6S, at least in terms of dimensions. We’re not expecting a radical departure from the current-generation iPhone, and early schematic leaks seem to support this sentiment. Rumours suggest that iPhone 6S cases will also fit snugly on the iPhone 7, although take these reports with due caution.
Of course, it’s still early days, and the iPhone 7 design is far from official. We won’t really know the truth of the matter until September, so stay tuned.
