Apple’s 12 Days of Christmas app now available for iOS devices

Apple has released the 2012 edition of its annual 12 Days of Christmas app on iTunes.

The app, available for all iOS devices, provides one free piece of content each day from the 26th of December until the 8th of January. Each piece of content, which will include songs, music videos, TV episodes, books and apps, will be available for 24 hours from its release.

12 Days of Christmas represents one of the few times that European iTunes customers come off better than US users, who have been enjoying relatively cheaper prices since iTunes began; the service isn’t available in the US at all.

Last year’s gifts included episodes of Mad Men and The Big Bang Theory, as well as the Diner Dash and Fishing Kings games.

The app is free and works with almost all iOS devices, including the iPhone 3GS – but does require that the user is running iOS 5.0 or later. Users without iOS devices will still be able to download the free content to their computer, so that they can sync it later when they get around to buying an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
