Apple Pay finally gets Barclays support in UK

Apple Pay has been in the UK for nearly a year, but one major bank has always been missing from its roster of supporters.
Barclays has finally announced that it has added support for Apple Pay in the UK.
The UK’s second biggest bank missed Apple Pay’s summer ’15 launch, but is now fully compatible with Apple’s mobile payment service.
Barclays customers will now be able to make contactless payments at NFC-equipped terminals across the UK using an iPhone, Apple Watch, or iPad.
The bank says that over 400,000 retail outlets across the UK are now Apple Pay-friendly.

“You can use Apple Pay with your Personal, Premier, or Wealth debit card,” writes Barclays. “You can also use Apple Pay with your Barclaycard.”
The bank continues: “Accounts that aren’t eligible include: Business, Corporate and Basic Current Accounts and accounts with ATM-only cards.”
