Apple has updated its range of MacBook Pro laptops with the latest Intel Haswell processors, announcing the upgrade during the iPad launch event.
Bringing the MacBook Pro into line with the recently released Haswell Apple iMac 2013 and MacBook Air 2013, the MacBook Pros will benefits from better energy efficiency and processing.
“We’ve made the world’s best pro notebook even better by adding more performance and even longer battery life,” said Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller. “MacBook Pro with Retina display continues to redefine the pro notebook.”

Both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros with Retina displays will gain the fourth-generation Intel Haswell processors within a slimmer frame.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is now even lighter at under 3.5lbs and is 0.71-inches thin. It now packs a fourth-generation Intel Core processor clocked up to 2.6GHz and with TurboBoost up to 3.1GHz and Intel Iris graphics. It offers 128GB and from 4GB of RAM.
It now has a 9-hour battery life, even when playing videos continuously. PCIe-based flash storage has been updated to be 3 times faster than the previous generation too.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro has fourth-generation Intel Crystalwell processor and has Intel Iris Pro graphics. You can also have Nvidia GeForce 750M graphics card if you wish.
There’s up to 8-hours of battery life and comes with PCIe-flash, 802.11e Wi-Fi and Thunderbolt 2.0 ports like the 13-inch edition.
MacBook Pro 2013 Release Date and Price
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is just £1,099, a considerable price drop on its predecessor, while the 15-inch version starts at £1,699. This is for a model with a 2.4GHz Core i5, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. Both are available now from the Apple Online Store running OS X Mavericks.
