Apple launches game-centric Twitter feed amid new Apple TV rumours

Ahead of a rumoured push for games on the new Apple TV, the company has launched a new Twitter feed to specifically promote iOS titles.
The App Store Games account went live on Thursday with the aim of pushing the most popular content on the store.
The @AppStoreGames account’s first tweet read: “This is your new HQ for everything games, right from the App Store Games Editors.”
Apple’s action comes as speculation suggests the new Apple TV set-top box will double up as a games console.

Reports claim the presence of full-fat iOS 9 will allow users to access the full line up of App Store games on their TV.
This will apparently be boosted by a new remote control featuring motion-sensing technology. The remote will enable Nintendo Wii style gaming, which will come in handy for racing games, according to recent speculation. It is also said to support wireless, Bluetooth games controllers made by third-party manufacturers.
Today’s news adds to the intrigue ahead of Apple’s big event on September 9.
It’ll run an A8 processor, judging by recent rumours, while it’ll also be available in 8GB and 16GB storage options. The price will start at $149, sources claim.
Apple is also plotting a subscription TV platform, but that’s unlikely to launch until 2016.
